How do I run a Clean Install with Snow Leopard?
Question
How do I do a Clean Install with Snow Leopard? I’m having a lot of computer problems and need to reinstall my system.
Answer
Macintosh system installs before Snow Leopard had three different ways to install your system.
- Clean install (wipe your entire hard drive)
- Normal (update your currrent System Folder)
- Archive and Install (moves your current system folder and give you a clean one)
Now your options are #1 (Clean Install) and #2. (Normal Install)
If you are having a lot of problems with your computer running smoothly after your Normal upgrade, I would back up and do a Clean Install (Erase your computer and Install a new system).
Here is a video on how to do it. I would have made my own tutorial, but this guy’s voice is much nicer than mine with great accent.
…and here are some written instructions for doing a Clean Install if you’d rather read.
