Preview Separations in InDesign

How do I preview separations in InDesign?

Answer

InDesign has a great way to review your files and make sure your spot colors are spot colors and your process colors are process colors.

1. Launch InDesign
2. Go to Window –> Output –> Separations Preview
3. Select “Separations” from the dropdown menu.
4. From here you can turn on and off the different colors to see how they will separate by clicking on the eye icon next to each color. Note that each color in your document is represented in that list. See the animation below to see an example of the separations being turned on and off.
